1622, den 21. Juli, he and several other merchants connected with the soap and ash business, signed a petition supporting the attempt of the ash carriers to suppress competition in carrying ashes by outsiders (Van Dillen, op. cit. p.459). He paid a tax of 225 f. in 1631 (living op 't Water) (Kohier, fol. 280v, p. 64).

1633, den 10. Dezember, Barthout Willemsz., 50, Jan Egbertsz. Bisschop, 43 (the brother of Paulus Bisschop of R 29011), and Jacob Cloeck, 46, made a deposition at the request of Outgert Claesz., likewise merchant. Barthout Willemsz. declared that he had bought potash (for making soap) from Outgert Claesz. (NA 409, Not. Jacob and Nicolaes Jacobsz.)

1635, den 23. Mai, comp. voor notaris H.J. van der Lijn te Alkmaar Floris Barthoutsz. van Poelenburch en geeft procuratie op de "E. Barthout van Poelenburch synen soon" tot invordering van alle vorderingen, die comparant te Amsterdam en 'daer omtrent' uitstaande heeft, ook mag deze de goederen, door Barthout Willemsz. van Beinsdorp, Koopman te Amsterdam, ten behoeve van Floris getransporteerd, verkoopen en te gelde maken. Gepasseerd ten huize van comparant in de Langstraat te Alkmaar in presentie van Maerten en Godert Ludinckhuysen, poorters te Alkmaar. Hieronder Floris’ handteekening (Notarieel Archief Alkmaar no. 44, folio 2; Barthout Willemsz. van Beinsdorp is een zoon van Neeltge, de zuster van Floris Barthoutsz.).

1635, den 6. Juli, comp. voor notaris H.J. van der Lijn de heer Floris Barthoutsz. van Poelenburch, inwoonende poorter deser stede Alkmaar. Geeft volmacht op Abraham Anthonisz. wonende Amsterdam om: 'uit kracht van het transport ende verseeckeringe nevens de E. Jacob van Alckemade en de Willem Willemsz. van Beynsdorp voor den notaris Laurens Lambertsen binnen Amsterdam van 18 October 1.1. te vorderen enz. al hetgene bij genoemd transport is overgedragen'. Gepasseert ten huize van constituant te Alkmaar in de Langestraat. Hij teekent: "floris Barthoutsz van Poelenbrucht" (Notarieel Archief Alkmaar no. 44, folio 8; Willem Willemsz van Beynsdorp is een zcon van Neeltge, de zuster vau Floris Berthoutsz., terwijl Jacob van Alckemade gehuwd is met een zuster van den zooeven genoemden Willem Willemsz. van Beynsdorp (zie Bisdom Haarlem 1 1873 als voor in noot 3).

1637, den 6. April, Barthout Willemsen van Beijnsdorp and Hendrick Barentsz. Hartochvelt (cited in the NOTES of R 30608), merchants in Amsterdam, declared at the request of Trojanus de Magistris that Reynier Cools had signed a contract concerning the shares in the diking of Bultsloot in Holstein (NA 1269, Not. P. Barcman, Extracten). Trojanus de Magistris was an attorney for Catholic houses, who was in relation with a number of artists. Rembrandt bought from him a painting by Rubens which he had received as collateral for a loan. He was a guardian of the painter Jan Jansz. Uijl (Jaap van der Veen, Het netwerk van verzamelaars rondom Rembrandt in Rembrandts schatkamer, Exh. Cat. Het Rembrandthuis, Amsterdam, 1999, p. 143.)

1645, im Februar, Barthout Willemsz. van Beynstorp signed the Februarij 1645 petition to the Vroedschap calling for the enforcement of currency regulations which had been issued in 1622 (Van Dillen, Wisselbanken 59(1925), p. 90).

1646, den 17. Oktober, Srs. Gerard Pietersz, 39, Rombout Verhulst, 21, and Willem Strycker, 39, declared at the request of Steven van Goor that they were coming onto the Spui by the Lutheran Church and there they had met the servant of Barthout Willemsz. and that Van Goor had asked him, in the hearing of the witnesses, whether he was willing to sell the painting that had been stolen and was now hanging in the house of Barthout Willemsz. and what he might want for it and whether he could deliver it so the deal would go through. The servant offered the painting for f. 10:10:-- and finally sold it for 10 f. (Bredius, Künstler-inventare pp. 1244-5). Gerard Pietersz., Willem Stryker, and Steven van Goor were all painters. Rombout Verhulst was a sculptor.

Barthout Wilemsz. or Willemsen, was a merchant and soap maker. He inherited the house den Hamer, also called de drie hamers, where he is noted at the auction, only in 1627 (from Floris van Alckemade) (Van Dillen, Bronnen tot de geschiedenis van het bedrijfsleven R.G.P. 78(1933), p. 636).

Er tritt als Seifensieder und Kaufmann in die Fußstapfen seines Vaters. Als sich sein Gesundheitszustand verschlechterte, folgen ihm seine Töchter Petronella und Lucia.
